Persistently high temperatures sharply increased demand for air conditioning, while steady economic growth further boosted electricity consumption, said Chen Huican, head of the trading group at the operation planning department of the CSG Guangdong Power Dispatch and Control Center.    From January to July, Guangdong's total electricity consumption rose 7.67% year on year. The high-tech and equipment manufacturing sectors emerged as major drivers of industrial electricity demand, with consumption increasing 8.77%.    The digital economy and new energy vehicle industry also contributed significantly to growth in the services sector, with electricity consumption by internet data services rising by more than 50% year on year.    By the end of July, Guangdong's cumulative installed capacity of grid-connected offshore wind power had reached 13.57 million kilowatts. The addition of new clean energy capacity has helped strengthen the province's power supply.    Meanwhile, 43 grid-side energy storage facilities across Guangdong have been discharging electricity during peak demand periods, providing additional support for the province's power grid.    (By Tang Yuxian)                        。
